After continuously using charcoal for two pages, I felt like I needed a change in a medium. Whilst I struggle using fineliner, I really like the effect created by the marks it made therefore I decided to use biro. It gave me more freedom to move across the page and also allows me to shaded in detail. I was still sticking to the time limit on the drawings and will continue to do this throughout my sketchbook as it makes me produce more work, therefore allowing me to use more mediums and draw different objects which will broaden my ideas on the topic of indistinct. An object that really caught my attention was a broken off part of a tree. When first looking at it for the first time, I just looked over it but when looking closely at the tree it became extremely interesting. Using my camera I started to take pictures of it using different angles. It looks like an completely different object throughout these pictures. It amazed me, therefore I knew I wanted to start drawing it straight away. I decided to focus on small parts of the object, since I was not studying it from photos it allowed me to look at the object in detail, there was nothing stopping me from seeing this object as closely as I wanted too. For the first piece, I decided to focus on a small rounded section of the tree. I liked the movement it created and being able to draw it singley on a page it allowed me to completely change the way I looked at it. It was still part of the same object but had become indistinct from it when I decided to draw it on my page. I was happy with how this piece turned out, I have created the movement I could see and have represented the accurate shading. The second piece focused on a part of the tree where a lot of shading affected it. I wanted to sketch the shading that I could observe. This piece turned out very small, I'm not sure why but it allowed me to add a lot more shading so overall I am happy with this piece. I feel that this page represents observational drawings and the topic of indistinct well.
