Using a macro lense, I began to take photos of things that interested me. Since I had taken photos of rope and felt like I had studied it enough in my sketchbook, I felt that I needed a new aim. I found this focus within nature. From my previous post, I looked at moss and different things that I had found within my garden. Whilst out walking, I noticed plant with big green leaves sprouting from the ground. Once I began to look closer at the detail of a single leaf I could see a million different textures and contrasting tones. I took apart some of it and brought it into the studio. After putting the leaf under direct light I began to look at it through my macro lense. What I saw amazed me. The tiny spikes that covered the plant, the colours and patterns throughout the leaves really captured my interest. Therefore I have decided to look at and study nature within my sketchbook recently.
